What do you mean with Publicist Services?
I am willing to offer my services as a freelance publicist to self-published and small press authors whose publishing company often only has a limited budget for advertising and promoting their books. As a self-published author myself, and previously having worked as a book publicist in a small publishing company, I know that getting the word out there isn’t easy, but I think I can help. For starters, I can help you write professional press releases, a catchy author bio and other promo materials that leave your readers intrigued and interested. Next, I can create a media kit for you and your book and distribute it to suitable book bloggers and reviewers. I can also help promote your book on various social media outlets, ranging from Twitter to Facebook, Google+ and BookBlogs.ning. Additionally, I can set you up with advertising on various book blog websites and help expand your readership. I can also help schedule reviews, author interviews, guest posts and giveaways for you.
What is the difference with a Book Tour?
The downside of a Book Tour is that it’s very limited in time and in regards to the people who actually get to read your book. Once all stops are filled, that’s it. You get one week to one month of extensive promotion, but then that’s the end of it. On top of that, book bloggers not registered as tour hosts never get the chance to read and review your book. That’s why is totally different to schedule a book tour as opposed to request publicist services. As a publicist, I do not limit myself to the bloggers signed up as tour hosts, I go out of the box and contact other bloggers I’m familiar with, or whose blogs and preferences fit the theme of your book, and I contact them, asking them if they want to review your book or host you as a guest blogger, etc. You can purchase my Publicist Services Packages on a month-to-month basis, making sure your book gets promoted every month and not just one week.
Tell me more about the “Get The Word Out There!” Package
This package is ideally for authors whose book is about to be published by either themselves or by a small publishing company. This package offers a lot of intense promotion during an entire month prior to your book release, ending in a large Release Party Day on which your book gets featured on at least 10 blogs (normal value: $19). A month prior to your book’s release, I will start to contact book reviewers and bloggers with ARC copies of your book and/or the request to host your book on their blog. Additionally, your book will get promoted on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other social network websites, and you will get advertised on various websites. I will distribute your media kit to a large amount of book bloggers and promote your book in any way imaginable.
And the Monthly Publicist Services?
Whereas the “Get The Word Out There!” Package offers very extensive and intense promotion of your book during the course of a month prior to it’s release, the Monthly Publicist Services are ideal for the months afterwards. It means that I will keep your book in the spotlight by contacting bloggers and reviewers and make sure your book gets featured on at least two blogs per week. I will occassionally mention your book on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and other social network websites. The promotion isn’t as intense as with the previous package, but then again these services come a lot cheaper, and they do keep your book in the spotlight it deserves. It’s just like if you were published with a large publishing company and got your own publicist assigned.
Can I purchase the “Get The Word Out There!” Package for more than one month?
Yes you can! Personally, I would advise every author out there to purchase this package for the month prior to their book release and the month right after. This is the formula used with most major publishing houses as well: two months of extensive, intense promotion, and then they still keep promoting the book, but just not that extensive. Additionally, if you purchase this package for two months, the second month will only cost you the discount price of $69 instead of the usual $99.
Can I purchase the Monthly Publicist Services for more than one month?
Yes, you can! Although I advise you to give it a try with a one month package first, nothing is stopping you from purchasing several months at once. In fact, you will actually get a discount by doing so. Simply fill in the Schedule Publicist Services form, choose the Monthly Publicist Services option and mention in one of the text areas that you want to purchase several months at once, and I will get back to you with a quote.
